Cathedral of SS. Peter & Paul Some 1892 Marriage Records Chicago, Illinois Cook County, Illinois ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Information contributed for use in Cook County ILGenWeb by Mallory, Algonquin, IL 30 June 30, 1999 NOTE from Submitter: I recently received marriage information from the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago Archives concerning my great-grandparents. The archivist was able to photocopy the actual page, since the records from the Cathedral of SS. Peter & Paul were in remarkably good condition. The information in the register was minimal, but I'm posting the other marriages recorded on page 119 in case they might be your relatives. ==================================================================== The Cathedral of SS. Peter & Paul was located on the corner of Washington Boulevard and Morgan Street until it burned in 1921. The seat of the Diocese was then moved to St. James Church on Huron Street (current headquarters) and the parish was closed. The information listed is as follows: location of marriage, date of marriage, license number, groom's name and age, bride's name and age, witnesses, name of minister performing the ceremony. Only the first couple has a geographic location attached to their names. I don't know if this is a birthplace, or whether their normal residence was from out of state.
