PATRICK CLEARY, member of the children's Benefit league and well known welfare worker among Italians of the south side, died yesterday at her residence, 4517 Michigan avenue. She was a sister of Mrs. Charles P. Caldwell, Mrs. John Cudahy, Miss Sara O'Neill, a leading educator, and Sister Cornelia, Sister of Charity, Utica, N. Y. In St. John's parish in the vicinity of Eighteenth and Clark streets, Mrs. Cleary organized an Italian settlement twenty-two years ago. Its importance soon induced Archbishop Quigley to establish the church of Maria Corronata for the exclusive use of people from Italy and their offspring at Twenty-third street and Wentworth avenue.
