Blue Island
The First Hundred Years 1835-1935 Historical Review of Blue Island, Illinois, written by John H. Volp is available online for free viewing, as is The Blue Island Story, published by The Lions Club of Blue Island in 1962.
Upon the Centennial Anniversary of Blue Island, John Volp's ambition was to write a comprehensive history of the community. He gathered historical documents, letters, personal recollections, newspaper articles, photos, and countless other resources to produce a detailed source of information and history of the first hundred years of Blue Island.
